Engineering Risks

Construction insurance is aimed at all Works Owners and/or Contractors, to cover risks associated with the execution of public works or civil construction contracts, guaranteeing material losses and damage of an accidental nature caused to works, when their repair, replacement or replacement in the state in which they were in immediately prior to the occurrence of the claim is necessary.

Advantages

The construction or extension of an infrastructure, be it a building, a house, a facility or a public work, is associated with an important financial investment that must be protected.

The developer must ensure that a "construction all risks" construction insurance policy is taken out, a risk management measure that protects the construction, during the whole of its execution period, against a wide variety of risks (see covers), on pain of losing the entire investment made.

We recommend that you take out the insurance yourself, as this is the best way of ensuring that the contract is properly carried out and that its scope of cover is adequate for your requirements.

The Construction Insurance (Engineering risks) was developed to guarantee all the safety for the most different types of works, including damages caused to third parties.

Covers

Construction Insurance guarantees losses and damages of an accidental nature, namely resulting from:

  • Accidents as a result of the work;
  • Fire, lightning and explosion;
  • Natural phenomena (earthquakes, floods, storms, tornadoes, typhoons, cyclones, landslides);
  • Accidents resulting from design, labour and material errors;
  • Strikes, assaults and riots;
  • Vandalism and malicious acts;
  • Theft or robbery;
  • Additional expenses with rubble removal;
  • Additional expenses for overtime work and special freight;
  • Easy maintenance.

Construction Insurance may, optionally, cover claims for:

  • Material damage to installations, machinery and auxiliary equipment used in the execution of the work.
  • Non-contractual civil liability that is legally attributable to the Project Owner and/or Contractors for damages caused to Third Parties as a direct result of an accident caused by the construction work, occurring on the construction site and during the period of execution of the same;
