Insurance for Goods Transported

Transported Goods insurance aims to safeguard all those who have a legitimate interest in goods, baggage or other objects during their transport, whether this takes place by sea, land or air.

There are various policy types to suit your needs:

  • Temporary Policy (or Single Policy): For all those who carry out sporadic expeditions;
  • Floating Policy (or Open Policy): For all those who carry out regular, fairly frequent expeditions;
  • Annual Policy: For all those who carry out road freight transport, in their own or rented vehicles, mainly for national journeys. This type of policy covers all journeys made during the year and operates with maximum limits per journey.

Advantages

As goods move across borders by sea, land or air, controlling them becomes increasingly difficult.

Globalisation has meant that trade with less developed countries and with weaker logistical infrastructures has become a reality and, for example, the risk of theft of goods in transit continues to increase significantly.

Transported goods insurance offers a wide range of protection: from door to door, warehouse to warehouse, with maritime, land, air or rail coverage, from the moment the raw material leaves its origin until it is delivered as a finished product.

Coverage

Cover for "all risks" of loss or damage to the insured objects, by analogy with ICC clause (A), except for the cases referred to in the Policy exclusions. It should be noted that ICC clauses are standard in international trade and the clauses for these covers are essentially local;

ICC (Air) - Covers "all risks" of loss or damage to the insured objects, with the exception of cases referred to in the exclusions of the Policy;

With the exception of clauses ICC (A) and ICC (Air), whose risks are already included, it is possible to take out the following complementary covers, among others:

  • Acts of Vandalism or Sabotage;
  • Theft or robbery;
  • Loading and Unloading Operations;
  • Strikes and War Clauses (with the exception of land transport), namely:
    Institute War Clauses (Cargo) / Institute Strikes Clauses (Cargo);
    Institute War Clauses (Air Cargo) / Institute Strikes Clauses (Air Cargo);
    Institute War Clauses (Sendings by Post);
    Termination of Transit Clause (Terrorism), for use with ICC War and ICC Strikes.
